“Mike Clark has helped me more than I can describe. He has had a profound impact on my knowledge of recording. My recent experience working with Mike was to help me build and then learn how to make the most of and effectively use my home recording studio. Even though I’ve worked with Mike for years, this recent experience is when I realized his incredible recording and teaching talents.

I am one of these people who skirted the entire computer age because I’ve never had to work on a computer in a professional capacity. My passion and professional work has always been music.

Mike helped me from the very start in building my home studio by guiding me through the purchasing process. He helped me, through his recommendations to buy exactly what I needed - from hardware to software and everything else between. Once my e
quipment arrived, Mike showed me how to set it up, how to make the most of it and how to record. The entire process has been unforgettable. With Mike’s help, I was actually recording within a few days, when it would have taken me hundreds of frustrating hours to figure it out by myself from a manual. He saved me so much time, money and aggrivation. The whole process of recording is so much easier, now I go through all of the basic workings of my music at home and then I schedule a session with him at his studio to add the final touch. The result is the most professional sounding music I’ve ever produced and the experience with Mike’s mentoring has been first rate.” - Brian F. Murphy 2006

I have been a home recording hack for a number of years using a mix of poorly integrated technologies that barely hung together. A year ago, with a goal to write and produce a children’s musical, I invested in a professional home recording studio. I already acquired a Yamaha full grand piano and a Kurzweil 2000 synthesizer. I purchased a Digidesign II interface box, Roland Series V Digital drum set, monitors, mics for the piano and vocals, ProTools 6.4 and a full set of plug-ins and accessories. I hooked them up (hacked them together) and thay barely hung together the user interface was so complex and problematic that for me to sit
down and record a music session was so much work that it was painful. By the time I was all setup and ready to record I lacked the energy, spontaneity and creativity to actual record anything. Consequently, my dreams were far from being realized.

Enter Mike Clark. He came to my home and within two hours had removed my mixer, about 8 cables, reconfigured my entire setup and sat down with me and setup a ProTools template. This ProTools template gave me the power to sit down and within a minute of setup to digitally record any instrument or voice. It truly was an unbelievable experience. Mike took something that seemed incredibly complex for a non audio recording engineer and brought it down to my level of understanding and capability. I can now record within a few seconds of sitting down in my studio. What’s most amazing is that this was all within two hours of his help

Mike came back for two more hours and helped me upgrade my MAC operating system and my Pro Tools 6.4 to 7.1. The midi functionality has been seriously upgraded in 7.0 that it was definitely worth it. Without Mike, once again, the entire process would have been quite a difficult one for me to do on my own.

I wholeheartedly recommend Mike Clark to anyone who wants to build a home studio or who already has one but has no idea how to unleash its functionality and power. He’s done it for me in just a few hours and he can do it for you.
